Visit Graeser Park

Back in the day, families loved to visit Graeser Park for picnics. There were barbecue grills scattered throughout the park, but many folks enjoyed cooking hot dogs in the beehive fireplace.

The fires over the years damaged the beehive. Now it has been repaired and the firebox openings have been sealed for long term preservation. Nevertheless, it’s just as beautiful to look at as it was 80 years ago.

Please visit this one-of-a-kind destination soon!

Get to Graeser by…

…foot (the park borders Crystal and Brooklyn Center on the west and Camden on the east)

…bike (via Twin Lakes Regional Trail or Grand Rounds Trail at Victory Memorial Park)

…car (park in the lot along Lakeland Avenue)

…or even private plane! (2 miles from Crystal Airport)

Help more people discover and enjoy the park…

  • Invite family and friends to meet you at the park with picnic food to eat at one of the eleven restored stone tables.
  • Sit on a restored bench nestled into the rock garden and imagine the ponds, waterfall, and fountain flowing freely. (Water connection has not been restored)
  • Please pick up any litter and put it in the blue trash barrel near the overlook (or take it home to recycle).
  • Dogs allowed! They enjoy the grassy expanse and the rock garden paths. (Pick up after them, of course.)
  • “Like” and/or “Join” the Graeser Park Restoration & Preservation Facebook group. Post photos, comment, and invite your Facebook friends to join.
  • Respect the history of the park. Don’t move or take any stones, and don’t pull weeds unless you are authorized and and trained in MnDOT policy. Please steer clear of the areas where crews are working. Thank you!
