Reopening!

In order to safeguard the health of our members and our community, the Robbinsdale Historical Society museum has been closed for sometime, but we reopened with some restrictions on Friday, April 2nd.

Here’s the plan:

Robbinsdale Historical Society COVID-19 Plan

Governor Walz announced on March 13, 2021 that museums may open to the general public in accordance with industry guidance available on the Stay Safe Minnesota website (https://staysafe.mn.gov).*

The Robbinsdale Historical Society is committed to providing a safe and healthy experience for Museum volunteers and visitors.

Guidelines for Museum entry

  • Volunteer Board members may enter the Museum at any time for research, and will follow the safety precautions listed below.
  • Visitors may enter the Museum on Fridays and Saturdays between 10:00am and 3:00pm and must observe the safety precautions listed below.
  • Anyone entering the museum will record his/her name and phone number and date and time of visit on the sign-in sheet. (This information could be needed for contact tracing.)

Required safety precautions

  • No more than ten people are allowed in the Museum at one time.
  • Six-foot social distancing is to be observed at all times.
  • All volunteers and visitors must wear facemasks at all times while in the Museum, hallway, or restroom.
  • Cloth facemasks are recommended. (A supply of disposable masks is available at the entrance for anyone not having a mask.)
  • Upon entering and leaving the Museum, volunteers and visitors must wash with soap and water in the restroom, or use the provided hand sanitizer.
  • Anyone who is experiencing COVID-like symptoms or has been exposed to someone having the COVID-19 virus may not enter the Museum.
  • Volunteers will be responsible for using disinfectant wipes to clean Museum doorknobs and restroom surfaces when visitors are present.

Adopted by the Robbinsdale Historical Society Board

* The organization’s COVID-19 preparedness plan is based on the Governor’s “Stay Safe MN” guidelines and the City of Robbinsdale requirements for organizations using city facilities. It also follows recommendations from the American Alliance of Museums and the Minnesota Alliance of Local History Museums.

Updated 3/13/2021

We looking forward to April! In the meantime, wear a mask, wash your hands, don’t touch your face, keep a safe social distance and respect your elders!

  1. I grew up in Robbinsdale and went from K-12. If you look out the front door of the Library straight down 42 1/2, the first house by the RR tracks is where I lived until I was nine. Got my first library card in your building. My brother Jim had his real estate office in Robbinsdale for many years. Still proud to be a Mighty Robin!
