April Membership Meeting Minutes

MEMBERSHIP MEETING OF APRIL 24, 2018

President Diane Jacobson McGee opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Minutes of the last meeting were recently mailed to members. There were no questions asked regarding them.

BIG NEWS was reported that a large box of the Robbins Family papers and letters has been brought to us by the woman who found it in her attic. There are dozens of old letters written by Andrew Robbins back in the 1850s and 1860s. There are papers and notes written by Amy Robbins for the book she wrote of World War One. Some of the letters are from the Dakota Uprising where Andrew Robbins was in the Army. Pete Richie, our Web Master and Historian has been scanning these papers so we have a permanent record of everything. Diane said the papers haven’t actually been contracted to us but we have permission to record them. A great grandson of the Robbins family was in last week and was able to identify some of the few photos that are included in this collection. The great granson and his wife are interested in helping to sort and identify items. These items are in safe keeping in the meantime.

Dodie has officially retired from our “sign-in table”. Diane gave her thanks for her help over the years.

Betty Anderson will continue with this assignment in the meantime.

Diane asked that members step forward to help with vacancies in our hospitality and to speak to her about volunteering. We also have “application forms” that can be used.

Thanks were given to all who brought treats for this meeting and for those who helped set up the refreshment table.

CLOSET CLEAN OUT We will be cleaning and sorting items stored in our closet on June 9 and 16. The upcoming “restyling” of our windows will follow this task.
