Davis. of Athens, Vermont. The year 1855 found him possessed of a strong desire to come west, and he obeyed the summons and emigrated to Eureka, Dakota County, Minnesota. Here he took up a claim of acres, and farmed it until [1875] and then removed to Minneapolis to educate his children. In 1876 he purchased a farm of 160 acres near Crystal Lake, 120 acres of which is now platted into city lots. In 1888 he built a beautiful home on the corner of Emerson and 23rd Aves. North, where he lived until his death which occurred September 17th, 1896. He is survived by four children: George O. Brimhall, Abbie F. Lind, Dr. S. I. Brimhall, of Minneapolis, and Mrs. Geo. O. He gave $4000, in cash, to secure the Robinson-Moon Car Co., afterwards the Northern Car Co., and became a large stockholder in the latter. He gave freely to all the above named interests and to the North Side Street Railway Co., and to the Congregational Church of Robbinsdale. He was a man of great courage and indomitable energy, a loyal American, a good and patriotic citizen, and enjoyed in all his business transactions the confidence of his fellows.
