The October 27, 2015 Membership Meeting of the Robbinsdale Historical Society was called to order by President Diane Jacobson McGee. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
The Minutes of the October Board Meeting were summarized by the Secretary.
Diane reported that close to 200 of Pete Richie’s “Robbinsdale” book have sold and we have ordered enough for Holiday giving. So far this has earned $1700 for the Historical Society. She also said the Museum has added some of the “Minnesota Wresting Hall of Fame” plaques and photos and other memorabilia to our displays.
Building upgrades: The floors in the front part of the Library building are being refinished. Even though the Art Gallery will be closed for this improvement the Museum will remain open regular hours for coffee and conversation.
Museum donation: Gayle Gerlach Madole has brought a large donation to our museum. Her mother was a charter member of the Library Club and she gave us papers and memorabilia. Rollie has been scanning and photographing these treasures so they can be enjoyed by all.
Book Presentation: Saturday, October 31 there will be a book about a long ago murder mystery in Robbinsdale written by Sunny Worel, granddaughter of Dr. Samuelson. Sunny died before the book was completed and her mother, Janet Worel, completed the writing and will be on hand for this event.
Thanks were given to Betty and Dodie for being at the sign-in table and those who brought treats today.
REMINDER: Memberships may be made at this time for this coming year. Cost is only $15.00
November 27th meeting presentation will be by Professor David Lanegran from Macalester College who will be telling us about early roads and development of transportation in Minnesota.
