MEMBERSHIP MEETING OF NOVEMBER 28, 2017
President Diane Jacobson McGee opened the November Membership Meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance. We met again in the Historical Society space. About 20 people were present. There were no questions regarding the Minutes of the last Board meeting or of the last Membership meeting.
Dean Cummings, Treasurer, said our checking account was in good order. Dues for the year 2018 of $15.00 can be paid at the Membership meeting or by sending a check to the Robbinsdale Historical Society.
About 109 people visited the Museum since last month’s meeting. Diane said a cup of coffee and persons to answer questions are available on Fridays and Saturdays.
Pete Richie has completed a unique book, a “Post Card Book” of vintage Robbinsdale photos. This is a fund raiser for our Museum. The book can be kept as a treasure or the Postcards can be torn out and mailed. Osterhus Publishing helped with the printing.
Pete, who is a manager at Barnes & Noble Books by Lake Calhoun, has a few “gift wrapping” positions open. Gift wrappers earn “tips” that can be directed to a favorite non-profit: HINT: our Historical Society. The positions are not paid otherwise. Contact the store manager at 612-922-3238.
Our next meeting will be March 27, 2018 with a speaker from Washburn McReavy. Time: 1:00 pm.
Our April meeting speaker will be Bill Ewald with a brand new presentation and May will have a speaker from Copperfield Hill.
Thanks for treats today by Kurt Lysne and Suzie Klatke and for those who helped set up our space for our meeting. Dode Dougherty is at the sign-in table.
We welcomed our guest speaker, Steve Carlisle of the “Wicked Wort” who told us about renovating the former Twin City Federal space into a unique adult only gathering spot in downtown Robbinsdale.
