President Diane Jacobson McGee welcomed the fifteen plus persons attending the Robbinsdale
Historical Society meeting and then led in the Pledge of Allegiance.
The Minutes of the last Membership meeting had no questions or additions.
Our Treasurer, David Krussow, was unable to attend but left a message that the Society has 40 Life Members. He also said our bank account is current and healthy. (Memberships of $15 per year or a Life Membership of $100 may be paid at the sign-in table today or mailed to the Historical Society.)
Diane reported that we have received from Jody Didler Dale scrapbooks from her high school days and her husband, Don Dale’s days as one of our RHS athletic heroes. Also a donation of a 36 star United
States Flag, which is quite rare, was donated by Hank McKenzie who discovered it in his attic at 3343
France Avenue North. This U.S. Flag was used from 1907 until 1911 when two more states. New Mexico and Arizona, joined the Union.
A big thank you for those who supplied treats for us and for Corrine Jones who helped set up the treat table.
Our guest speaker, David Leonhardt, President of the Terrace Theater Legacy group, showed pictures of this unique theater and told of several parts, lights, fixtures, letters from the outdoor tower, etc. The Legacy group is planning an exhibit on August 8, 2019. The Legacy group is asking for donations to help with its work.
