MEMBERSHIP MEETING OF MAY 22, 2018
President Diane Jacobson McGee opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance.
LAST MEETING’S MINUTES There were no questions regarding Minutes of our last meeting.
A donation was given for our refreshment fund by Dennis Scoville. Thanks, Dennis.
REMINDER that we will be cleaning and organizing out storage closet on Saturdays June 9 and 16 and request help for this.
DIGGERS’ GARDEN CLUB: Announcement that this garden club will have a plant sale on June 2 in our side yard. Friends and members are invited to come and purchase needed plants. (The gardens around our building are designed and maintained by this group. Come and enjoy.
SATURDAY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! Rollie Heywood has been our regular volunteer for this position for many years. He has said he is no longer able to do this work. Diane provided a Sign Up sheet for volunteers. No experience necessary! Pick a day you can be available. Access to Museum will be provided.
“ROBBINSDALE” books by Pete Richie: We have a new supply!
THE DAY’S SPEAKER was Charlotte Hoes who gave a history of Copperfield Hill, an Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Care facility that has been part of our City for over thirty years. It was started as place for Elva Farr by her son to relieve loneliness and to help with her personal care after Elva’s husband died. It has grown since then and has become a welcome landmark in Robbinsdale.
NEXT MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS:
September 25 , October 23 and November 27. We are looking forward to more stories from Bill Ewald of the former Ewald Dairy and from a speaker from Faith-Lilac Way Lutheran Church which is celebrating it’s 75 Anniversary in November.
