“Oh” was the only sound they came from pretty Marian Brunsell when she was told of the exciting news. She immediately called home to inform her mother that she was the new homecoming queen. She was so excited that she could not talk and had to call back later. Marian is the first light blonde queen of RHS. She has long blonde hair and hazel eyes. She came to Robbinsdale in the eighth grade after attending Twin Lakes School.

At present, Marion is in the girls club and a pep club member and is secretary of the student council. After graduation Marion plans to be doing secretarial work. This summer Marian worked at a dental laboratory during her spare time she took care of children which she enjoys very much. Marion’s bedroom resembles a miniature museum. Her hobby is accumulating stuffed animals. Among her likes and dislikes, chicken pie is a favorite on her food list with tapioca pudding ranking a close second. In the musical world her favorite vocalists are Mel Torme and Doris Day. Tommy Dorsey or Harry James are top bands in her estimation.

Journalism is her favorite subject as she enjoys writing stories. As far as her favorite in teachers is concerned Marion thinks they’re all tops. Her pet peeve is people who blow smoke in her face. She can be seen in the school with some of her closest friends including Beth Bursch, Jeanne Dorn, Glenda Parker, Beverly Hoenigschmidt, Donna Lovelace, Arlyne Valley, Joyce Loftes, Darlene Engel and Mary Lou Traugott. Dick Dennis former RHS football captain will escort her to the dance which will immediately follow the game with Hopkins.

Marian and her four attendants, Gerry Delwo, Janine Reynolds, Mary Lou Kubec and Joyce Pearson will begin the festivities of the day. The queen will ride in a dark green Lincoln Continental convertible. The afternoon events will begin with the homecoming program which will take place on the football field. This is the first year that the program will be held outside. This year’s chairman of the homecoming program is a Eileen Cavanagh. She will be assisted by Mary Saul, Ruth Rennie, Mary Gilchrist, Pat hill, Jane Warwa, Sharon McKenzie, Barbara Shipley, Betty Champlain and Joanne Klise. The genial MC is Bill Lockhart.
